After causing quite a stir with the first tire palletizing solution worldwide, the industry demonstrated strong interest in a solution for depalletizing tires.
This comes as no surprise: this task too continues to be carried out manually. In addition, it is common in the automotive industry for workers to transfer tires from pallets onto a conveyor belt and for the wheels to be mounted in a fully automated operation. This is very hard physical labor. This was reason enough for us to also develop a solution for this task.
Fully automated unloading of tires
Using the unrivaled DePalgo@Tire software, we implement cells in which robots assume the depalletizing operation. And there is a special plus of DePalgo@Tire: regardless of how closely the tires are stored
, through laser-based 3D object recognition
the robot detects the position of the part to be transported. After the tire to be gripped has been detected and selected, a gripping point is determined. Then a collision-free path is determined and the tire is picked up with absolute reliability
The universal gripper system is able to grip tires in a variety of ways - regardless of how or at what angle they are located
. While the robot places the tire down in an organized manner, the object recognition function starts a new scanning process and selects the next tire.
